At long last, a new version of this site is out. In the coming weeks I will be porting the content and functionality from this site to the new. The site (like most personal websites) is pretty much a work in progress. Please check out the new "Development" and "Portfolio" sections and please let me know what you think!

SaMaPi: The Legend Lives On

This is really amusing (ok at least for me personally hehe). Back in 1989 at the PSHS (a.ka. Pisay to its students), we started a small org so that bands could use the school's facilities for concerts. Half jokingly it was simply called SaMaPi for Samahan ng Manunugtog sa Pisay (Association of Musicians in Pisay).

SF Photography Update

Got this bit of news today courtesy of Susan's newsletter. RayKo Photo Center has now reopened with a 12,000 sq. ft. facility in downtown SF. For those of us who can't afford to setup our own darkroom or the luxury of a 15' ceiling studio or large digital printers that can print up to 44" wide, check them out.

As I probably mentioned before, the Photography Certificate Program at UC Berkeley Extension has been shutdown a year ago along with the historical Laguna street campus (which has been torn down to give way to commercial spaces, I heard). The good news (I think) is that they are opening a new 33,000 sq. ft. facility on 95 Third St. called Art/Design Center across the SF MoMA.

Embarcadero Nocturne

I'm currently participating in a night photography group exhibit hosted by The Nocturnes. Show is running until sometime in February at three venues: South Beach Cafe, No. 4 Embarcadero Center and Fort Mason's Administration Building A. More info about the show at The Nocturnes website.
